First Bank Transfer Code: FirstBank USSD Quick Banking Service
If you are a First Bank customer, you will be glad that you can carry out banking transactions on your account without necessarily visiting the bank with the First bank transfer code.
What is the First bank transfer code?
The First bank transfer code is *894#. If you like, you can call it Firstbank USSD Code. It means the same thing.
What can you do with the First bank transfer code?
There are many things that you can do with Firstbank USSD Code and this includes the following:
- Open Account
- Transfer money
- Pay Bills
- Buy Airtime
- Check Balance
- View Mini Statement

Open Account
If you don’t have an account with Firstbank yet, you can dial *894*0# to open an account. Also, if you have an existing account and you have a debit card linked to the account but you have not registered for the Firstbank USSD, you can dial *894*0# to register.
Once you dial the code, a list of masked debit card numbers linked to your account (if you have more than one debit account) will be displayed. You will then select the debit card you want to be using for FirstBank USSD Transfer. You will be prompted to enter your chosen card’s 4-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). Then, you will need to create a new 5-digit PIN. Once this is done, your number becomes active for the FirstBank USSD Quick Banking Service.
Transfer money
In the late ‘90s and early ‘20s, it takes a lot of processes before customers can transfer money from their account to another person. Mainly, transfers were either done by issuing a cheque, purchasing a bank draft, or giving written instruction to the bank. In most cases, it took an average of three days before the transfer could be completed especially if you were transferring to another bank.
But today, the story has changed. Thanks to technology! With the Firstbank Transfer Code, you can easily and securely transfer from your Firstbank account to another account in Firstbank or other banks in Nigeria.
To transfer money from your first bank account, simply dial *894*Amount*Account Number# (eg *894*5000*45154847XX#. The simple interpretation of this code is that you are transferring the sum of N5,000 from your bank account with Firstbank to another account number 45154847XX. Please, if you are using the Firstbank USSD code, you need to write the complete 10-digit NUBAN (Account Number) of the person you are transferring the money to. Don’t use “XX” as I used in the example. I only used “XX” to mask the account number.
Also, this is very important, you can only use the telephone line you registered with the First bank to dial the code. If you use a different telephone line, the transaction will not go through.
Buy Airtime
With FirstBank USSD Code, you can buy airtime for yourself and others.
To buy airtime for yourself, simply dial *894*Amount# from your registered phone number with FirstBank. Let’s assume you want to recharge N1,000, you will dial *894*1000#
To buy airtime for your other number that is not registered with FirstBank or you want to buy airtime for others, simply dial *894*Amount*Phone Number# from your registered phone number with FirstBank. Let’s assume you want to recharge the person’s phone with N1,000, you will dial *894*1000*08012345678#. Please, don’t forget to replace 08012345678 with the person’s number.
Check Balance
At times, you may want to quickly check your account balance, you can use the FirstBank USSD code to achieve this. To check your account balance, simply dial *894*00#.
Mini Statement
It is not every time that just knowing your balance will give you enough information. You may check your balance and the amount you see is totally different from what you are expecting. In such a situation, you may like to see few previous transactions in your account. That means you need a mini statement.
To view your mini statement, simply dial *894*Account Number#. Account Number is your own account number (eg *894*0025485471#).
