SBI Customer Care Number for Text Messages

State Bank of India (SBI) has a dedicated telephone number that you can send a specific code to report any issue, complain or make a request. For instance, if you are unhappy with SBI services, you will simply text UNHAPPY and send to the SBI Customer Care number 8008 20 20 20.

Alternatively, you can use Missed call Banking at SBI Quick. It is another free service from the State Bank of India (SBI) which customers can use to get their account balance, mini statement, and other quick services. Customers just need to give a Missed Call or send an SMS with pre-defined keywords to specific dedicated mobile phone numbers from their registered mobile number. Please, note that you cannot just use any telephone number to access this service, the telephone number should be the one you register with the bank.

SBI Quick App is available for download on Windows, Android, iOS, or Blackberry phones. With the SBI Quick App, customers can access SBI Quick facility in the pre-login section. It is not compulsory for customers to download the SBI Quick App. However, having the app will be helpful as you can easily access various keywords and destination SBI Customer Care Number. After the installation of the SBI Quick App, you will not need an internet connection to use the service as your communication will be through SMS or Missed Call.

For the benefit of customers who may not have the SBI Quick App, below are the various keywords and destination SBI Customer Care Number you can use for SMS service.

  • For one-time registration: Text ‘REG Account Number’ to 09223488888. For example, if your account number is 12254863710, you will simply text REG 12254863710 and send it to 09223488888. You should ensure you send the text through your registered phone number. Immediately after you send the text message, you will receive a confirmation message to indicate whether the registration is successful or not. In case the registration is not successful, it can be that you use a telephone number that is not registered with the bank or that the SMS format you used is wrong.
  • For Balance Enquiry: You simply give a missed Call or text ‘BAL’ to 09223766666. You will get the last clear balance on your account.
  • To Request for Mini Statement: You simply give a missed Call or text ‘MSTMT’ to 09223866666. You will receive the mini statement containing the last five transactions on your account.
  • To request for Cheque Book: Simply text ‘CHQREQ’ to 09223588888. A text message will be sent to you. You will then send consent SMS (CHQACCY6 digit no. received in SMS) to 09223588888 within two hours of receipt of the SMS before your cheque request can be processed.
  • To Request for E-Statement: Text ESTMT <space> <Account Number> <space> <code> to 09223588888. The code in the text message you are sending represents any four-digit number of your choice which you can use to open the E-Statement in form of an encrypted PDF attachment that the bank will send to your registered email address. The E-Statement will contain the transactions in the last six months.
  • To Request Education Loan Interest Certificate: To get Home Loan Interest Certificate for the financial year, text HLI <space><Account Number> <space> <code> to 09223588888. The code in the text message you are sending represents any four-digit number of your choice which you can use to open the E-Statement in form of an encrypted PDF attachment that the bank will send to your registered email address.
  • To Request Home Loan Interest Certificate: To get Education Loan Interest Certificate for the financial year, text ELI <space><Account Number> <space> <code> to 09223588888. The code in the text message you are sending represents any four-digit number of your choice which you can use to open the E-Statement in form of an encrypted PDF attachment that the bank will send to your registered email address.
  • Request to Block ATM Card: You can request for the blocking of your ATM Card in case of loss or theft by sending an SMS ‘BLOCK<space>XXXX’ from your registered mobile phone number to 567676. The XXXX in the text message is the last four-digit of your card number. If the blocking request is received, the bank will send you a confirmatory SMS alert containing the ticket number, date, and time of blocking. Customers can also block their ATM card by calling SBI Customer Care Number or visiting any nearest SBI Branch.
  • To request for ATM Card Activation/Deactivation: If you want to control your ATM Card channel usage at ATM, POS, E-Commerce, Domestic, and International, you can do this by sending an SMS from your registered mobile phone number. This can be achieved by sending pre-defined keywords as SMS ‘SWON/SWOFFATM/POS/ECOM/DOM/INTL<XXXX> to 09223966666.




Please note that you can’t send this entire code at a time, You need to be specific about the channel of usage you want to activate or deactivate per time.

  • To Activate ATM usage, send SMS ‘SWON ATM<XXXX> to 09223966666.
  • To deactivate ATM usage, send SMS ‘SWOFF ATM<XXXX> to 09223966666.
  • To Activate POS usage, send SMS ‘SWON POS<XXXX> to 09223966666.
  • To deactivate POS usage, send SMS ‘SWOFF POS<XXXX> to 09223966666.
  • To activate E-Commerce usage, send SMS ‘SWON ECOM<XXXX> to 09223966666.

Don’t forget to replace XXXX with the last four digits of your card number. State Bank of India bank will send you a confirmatory SMS alert containing the ticket number, date, and time of your request.

Customers can also control the usage channel of their ARM Card through the SBI Anywhere mobile app or by logging on the OnlineSBI (Online SBI applies to personal segment customers)

  • To Generate ATM Card PIN: Send PIN XXXX YYYY as SMS from your registered mobile phone number to 567676. XXXX represents the last four digits of your ATM Card Number while YYYY represents the last four digits of your Account Number. You will receive an OTP which you must use within two days to change your SBI Debit Card TIN at any ATM. State Bank of India recommends that the OTP should be used within 24 hours.
  • To Request for SBI Home Loan features: Text ‘HOME’ to 09223588888. You will receive the SBI Home Loan features as a text message.
  • To Request for SBI Car Loan features: Text ‘CAR’ to 09223588888. You will receive the SBI Car Loan features as a text message.
  • To Request for De-Registration: Send ‘DREG’ to 09223488888 from SBI Quick.

Charges

If you send SMS to a six-digit number, you will pay premium charges but if you send SMS to a ten-digit number, charges will be based on your mobile bill plan. No charge applies to Missed Call. However, if you listen to IVR of three seconds that is played after four to five rings, you will be charged based on your mobile bill plan for the three seconds.
