PNB Net Banking: Comprehensive Guide About PNB Internet Banking
PNB Net Banking provides a fast, simple and convenient way of Banking to the people of India. PNB provides both retail internet banking and Corporate Internet banking. The online services are also available to NRI Customers.
How to Register for PNB Net Banking
If you want to register for Retail Internet Banking, it is very simple to do. You just need to follow this simple process below:
- Visit the PNB website https://www.pnbindia.in/
- Click on Retail and then select New User.
- Select an option from Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, or Both. If you only want to register for PNB Net Banking, choose Internet Banking; if you want to register for just PNB Mobile Banking, choose Mobile Banking; but if you want both PNB Mobile Banking and PNB Net Banking, then select Both.
- Enter Your Account Number
- Select “Type of Facility”. If you just want to be able to view your transactions online only and not to carry out transactions, choose “View Only”. But if you want to be able to carry out transactions, then select “View & Transaction”.
- A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP.
- Enter your Debit Card Number and ATM PIN
- Set your Login and/or Transaction passwords. A message will be displayed on your screen that your registration is successful.
- Write down your User ID and start using it. It is safer to memorize your User ID. Therefore, you should quickly memorize it so that you don’t need to keep it elsewhere. The activation is immediate. So you can start using the PNB Net Banking
Other Ways to Register for PNB Net Banking
Through Call Centre: You can call any of the PNB Customer Care Numbers. The Toll-Free Numbers are 1800 180 2222 and 1800 103 2222 while the Tolled Number is 0120 2490000.
Through ATM: Visit any PNB ATM to register for Internet Banking
Through PNB Branch: Visit any PNB branch closest to you and submit a request form PNB – 1063. You can download the form from the bank’s website www.pnbindia.in or pnbibanking.in. Your PNB Net Banking password will be couriered to your registered address or to the branch as per your request.
It is advisable that you change your password immediately.
How to Change your PNB Net Banking Password
- Visit the PNB website https://www.pnbindia.in/
- Select Retail User
- Enter your User ID and click “Continue”
- Click on “Forgot Password”. A password reset screen will be displayed.
- Enter your User ID and click “Submit”
- Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter your Debit Card number, linked account number, and ATM PIN and then click “Continue”.
- Enter your new login and/or transaction passwords.
How to Register for PNB Corporate Internet Banking
Also, if you are a KYC – Compliant PNB Corporate customer, you can register for PNB Corporate Internet Banking. It is also an instant registration and activation. You will be able to manage the role of the users.
Registration can also be done through a PNB Branch by submitting the request form PNB – 1212. You can download the form from the PNB Internet banking website https://www.pnbindia.in/. PNB Corporate Internet Banking comes with some security features. After registration, you can set login time restrictions. Once this is set, it means no user will be able to login into the PNB Corporate Internet Banking platform outside the login time. Just as with any internet banking, you can add, modify or delete beneficiaries receiving funds from your account. In case the account has more than one user, being a Corporate Internet Banking, you can set various levels of limits for the users. You can define the overall account level and user level. You can limit the user by the number of beneficiaries he can add and the type of transactions that the user can carry out. Apart from the User ID and password, there is an additional authentication factor by way of One Time Password (OTP) or Digital Certificate to use before a user can log in to the PNB Net Banking platform. However, this is optional.
How to Set Digital Certificate as Additional Authentication Factor
If you want to use Digital Certificate as an additional authentication factor, you will need to follow this process:
- Install Digital Certificate on your Computer.
- Visit the bank’s website and log in with your Corporate ID, User ID, and Password.
- Click “Service Requests” under the “General Services” Tab.
- Select the “Digital Certificate – Enroll” option, and then click “Enroll”. WebSigner window will pop up.
- You will then select the Digital Certificate and click OK. Click “Submit” to confirm the details.
- You will need to note down the reference ID. Request the PNB branch for approval. Once you have enrolled for Digital Certificate, you will need to be validated through the Digital Certificate authentication before you can log in.
But if you later realize that the use of a Digital Certificate as an Additional Authentication Factor is too cumbersome for you and you want to remove it, this is possible.
How to De-Register Digital Certificate as Additional Authentication Factor
- Visit the bank’s website and log in with your Corporate ID, User ID, and Password.
- Click “Service Requests” under the “General Services” Tab.
- Select “Digital Certificate and select the “De-registration” option, and then click “De-register”.
- Click “Submit” to confirm.
- You will be de-registered and you will no longer need to use the Digital Certificate to Login
How to Set Second Factor of Authentication
In case you want to set the second Factor of Authentication that will require the use of One Time Password (OTP) or Digital Certificate before you can perform transactions, you will need to follow this process
- Visit the PNB website https://www.pnbindia.in
- Login with your Credentials (that is, Corporate ID, User ID, and Password)
- Click “Personal Settings” and then select “Set Second Factor Authentication”
- Select Enable OTP or Digital Certificate for various transaction types
- Click “Submit” to confirm.
If you want to cancel disable the second Factor of Authentication for transactions, just follow the same process described above. But in this case, you will select Disable OTP or Digital Certificate for various transaction types and then click submit to confirm.
For all PNB Corporate Internet Banking users, the bank has introduced “PNB IBS SHIELD” which mandates a user to set his image, phrase, and register for seven challenge questions. Also, the bank website has VeriSign Secure site certification. This means that all information that you will send to the website will be encrypted and protected from third parties.
How to Transfer Fund Using PNB Net Banking
Apart from transferring funds between your account within PNB Bank, I mentioned that you can also transfer funds to a third party. However, before you can transfer to a third party, you need to add the third party as a beneficiary. To do this, you can follow the steps below:
How to Add or Modify Beneficiary in PNB Internet Banking

- Login with your Credentials
- Click on Manage Beneficiary
- Select “Add within PNB Payee” if the beneficiary is PNB Account Holder
- Select “Add other PNB Credit Card Payee” if the beneficiary is PNB Credit Card Holder
- Select “Add other bank Payee” to add a beneficiary having an account with other banks. This essentially is for RTGS, NEFT, and IMPS transactions.
- Select ”View/Modify Beneficiary Details/Limits” if you are modifying the limit of the existing payee.
- Select “Confirm New/Modify Beneficiary” to confirm

Features of PNB Net Banking
PNB Net Banking has many features that make banking convenient to customers. These features cut across financial services, non-financial services, and value-added services. These features are highlighted below:
Fund Transfer within PNB: Customers can make transfers between their own accounts. They can transfer funds to third parties and Kitty accounts within PNB
Inter-Bank Transfers: PNB Net Banking customers can make an inter-bank transfer through IMPS (using IFSC or MMID, NEFT, RTGS, and Indo Nepal remittance. These services are available 24/7 every day (including Sundays and holidays.
Online Opening of Account: Customers can open FD/RD Account and PPF Account from the comfort of their homes. Likewise, they can close their Fixed Deposit account online either upon maturity or prematurely. They can as well open overdraft against Fixed Deposit Account.
Credit Card Related Issues: Customers with PNB Credit Card and PNB Bank Account can pay their credit card bills from their PNB Net Banking platform. The payment is carried out instantly. Also, you can also make your credit card payments through NEFT or IMPS. This will require that you add your Credit Card as a beneficiary.
Utility Bill Payments: You can pay your utility bills such as electricity bills, mobile/telephone bills.

How to Safeguard Your PNB Net Banking Account
There are certain precautions you can put in place so as to ensure that your bank account is safe. These include the following:
- Use a complex password containing lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Do not share your password with any person whether on phone or through the mail. This includes bank officers. No genuine bank officer will ask for your password.
- Change your password frequently. The system may even prompt you to change your password if you have been using the same password for a long time. You can read about how to change your password above.
- Do not click on any link from any emails. This link may lead you to a website that is not the bank’s website. Also, it is not safe to enter your personal details in any pop-up window. PNB will not send you any email requesting you to provide your login details or personal information.
- If you are visiting PNB’s website, always ensure that its URL is preceded by the padlock symbol and “HTTPS” and not just “HTTP”.
