Do you know you can start your own business now? You don’t need to wait till the time you develop grey hairs to start your own business. The mistake I have seen a lot of people made is waiting till the time they retire before thinking of the business to start.

Unfortunately, greater percent of people that wait till they attain retirement age will not be able to start their own business again. Why do you need to wait until you have spent your productive years serving another person? I want you to ask yourself a sincere question. If you truly desire to start your own business; why not now?

The best way to fule your confidence to start your own business is to look around and identify those who have already started their own businesses. Ask yourself these questions:

• Do they have two heads? You know the answer already. They have just one head the way you do.
• Am I at all at disadvantage in all aspects of life when compared yourself? Possibly you will find some of the at advantage in one area or the other. But if you are sincere to yourself, you will discover you are also at advantage in some other areas. You will even find out that you are more at advantage than a lot of them.
• Am I too young to start my own business? If you are reading this article, then I will say that you are not too young to start your own business. Perhaps, your current employer may even be younger than you are. In case he is old than you, that is not an excuse. It is possible he started the business at an age that is less than your present age.
• What then is stopping me from starting my own business? Here, you will have a lot of reasons for not starting your own business. I know one of the things you will mention is lack of capital. This is the excuse a lot of people give. The truth is that, money is not your problem. The main problem is fear! Of course, money can be part of the challenges, but you can overcome the challenge if really you want to start your own business. When there is a will, there is a way. Let’s take this for an example: Supposing you receive an invitation to attend an interview at Abuja. And you reside in Lagos. You have a conviction that if only you can attend the interview, success is guaranteed. You have the option of going by road or by flight. Even though you don’t have a dime with you, you will find a way of getting to Abuja by all means. How will you get to Abuja, I don’t know. But I know you will devise all means to be sure you attend the interview. Why? Because you have a compelling force driving you. The money that was not available will show up.

That is the same way with starting a business. When you have a compelling force driving you to start your own business, you will not have any excuse not to start. Please, you may need to get angry with yourself instead of justifying your inability to take a step. This article is essentially to provoke you to take a step towards starting your own business.
